McDonald's recently got in contact with Persona Signs and asked if we could help them celebrate International Women's Day by creating a W sign from their iconic M. We happily accepted and were eager to work on this new exciting project. This project isn’t just taking the existing sign and flipping it upside down. Persona put a team together to find the best way to mount the sign so that it would stand in any weather while maintaining the McDonald’s signs design.
What started as a project in small-town South Dakota has now become national news honoring women around the world. To go along with the sign McDonald's also flipped the logo on their shirts, packaging, and social media. They stated "Today, we flip our Golden Arches to celebrate the women who have chosen McDonald's to be a part of their story, like the Williams family. In the U.S. we’re proud to share that 6 out of 10 restaurant managers are women."
